Cabinets – Final Inspection Checklist

This checklist ensures that all cabinet installations meet quality standards, project specifications, and aesthetic requirements before the trade contractor leaves the jobsite. It includes verifying the condition and alignment of cabinets, checking hardware and structural integrity, and ensuring the site is clean and ready for the next phase of construction. By completing these steps, the team ensures a professional finish, proper functionality, and customer satisfaction.

Inspect windows to ensure they are intact and undamaged

Verify temporary handrails, safety bracing, and other temporary supports are intact

Confirm cabinets are installed according to the plan with the correct number and sizes

Check that all cabinets are level and plumb

Ensure cabinets are securely and tightly fastened to the wall

Confirm cabinet and countertop colors match the project specifications

Use colored caulk if cabinets and countertops require color matching

Ensure cabinet doors and drawer fronts are level and square

Check that cabinet faces and corners are level and plumb

Test that all doors and drawers open and close properly

Verify correct hardware is installed, aligned squarely and plumb

Inspect screws to ensure they have not splintered the wood

Install kick plates with no gaps or holes

Verify HVAC vent is cut correctly and that shoe molding will fit below it

Inspect cabinets for damage and ensure they are intact with no unfilled holes

Check that all shelves are level, undamaged, and the correct number is installed

Ensure holders for adjustable shelves are all in place, level, and secure

Test rollout shelves for smooth operation and secure tracking

Verify lazy susan(s) are installed plumb, operate correctly, and are securely fastened

Clean cabinets inside and out

Protect countertops with securely taped cardboard

Clean the house, sweep thoroughly, and remove all debris
