Plumbing (Final) – Final Inspection Checklist

This checklist ensures that all final plumbing installations are completed, operational, and meet project specifications before the trade contractor leaves the jobsite. It emphasizes testing for functionality, verifying alignment, and ensuring that all warranties, tags, and manuals are in place. Additionally, it focuses on cleanliness and the proper condition of the site.

Set all fixtures

Verify all fixtures and faucets (brand and type) match the purchase order and plans

Test all fixtures for operation

Ensure there are no leaks

Verify no excessive noise is heard from water pipes

Inspect faucets, tubs, and showers to confirm there are no surface defects

Ensure tubs and showers are fully secured to the wall

If pedestal sinks are installed, ensure water shutoff valves are accessible and usable

Align all faucets and showerheads, ensuring they are level and straight

Ensure all regular water shutoffs are accessible and in working order

Verify the correct number of water shutoffs

Test the water shutoff at the street to ensure it works correctly

Tag all hot and cold water shutoffs

Tag the main water shutoff

Verify clothes washer faucets are working and tagged with hot and cold labels

Verify the correct number of outside faucets and ensure all are working

Place the strainer and stopper in good condition in the kitchen drawer

Place the emergency key for the garbage disposal in the kitchen drawer with the strainer and stopper

Place warranty and instruction manuals for the hot water tank and garbage disposal in the kitchen drawer to the left of the range

Verify the hot water tank is working

Ensure the hot water tank is on a metal stand and secured per manufacturers instructions

Affix a tag with the name and phone number, including an emergency phone number, to the hot water tank and cabinet door

Ensure all inspections have been passed

Clean the house, ensuring it is broom-swept and free of debris

Clear the jobsite of debris, boxes, and other materials
