This checklist ensures that prebuilt stairs are installed securely, accurately, and according to specifications. It emphasizes proper fit, alignment, stability, and protection of all stair materials. Additionally, it includes cleaning up temporary stairs and ensuring no issues arose from incorrect measurements.

Install stairs in all levels requiring stairs

Ensure all sets of stairs fit correctly

Verify all sets of stairs are the correct type

Measure and confirm the heights and runs of all sets of stairs are correct

Ensure all sets of stairs do not creak, squeak, or move

Verify bracing for all sets of stairs is nailed, glued, and secure

Ensure no patching was needed for any stairs due to incorrect measurements

Move temporary stairs to the garage

Protect all risers on all sets of stairs

Double-protect all oak materials, ensuring no oak is visible

If extra stairs are required for the garage, ensure they are the correct height and properly installed
